IS ADVANCED—
Lt. Donno C. Bellows has been advanced to the rank of first lieutenant, according to information received by friends in Mason City. The former resident was recently awarded an air medal for gallantry in action and meritorious achievement as a member of Gen. Douglas MacArthur’s forces in New Guinea. He is the son of Mrs. Bessie A. Bellows, formerly of Mason City, now living in California.
Lieutenant Bellows was enlisted in the army air corps reserve in 1941, and was commissioned a second lieutenant at Stockton, Cal. He has been in the Pacific theater for some time, and has recently been transferred.
