Capt. Herb J. Baumsten

Capt. Herb J. Baumsten, husband of Rosena Kosberg Baumsten, 2422 Pierce street, and son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Baumsten, 819 18th street, has been appointed ground executive officer of a Flying Fortress squadron with the 92d bombardment group, oldest Fortress group in England. Capt. Baumsten, formerly special service officer with that group0, now is responsible for all administrative duties within his squadron not directly connected with operational flying. A graduate of Central high school and the University of Mississippi, Capt. Baumsten was coach of the Sioux City Olympics professional football team before entering service in May, 1942. He won his commission in April, 1943, and arrived overseas in June, 1944.
