Men In Service

Private First Class Chester L. Axthlem has been appointed a student captain at Scott Field, Illinois, where he is a member of the United States army air force technical command, attending radio school. He has been a student there the last four months and prior to his new appointment was a student first lieut. Private Axthlem is a son of Mrs. Erma Petersen, Tott Apartments. He will be graduated April 16. Private Axthlem is a graduate of East High School where he was a football player.

IN UNIFORM

Flight Officer Chester L. Axthlem, son of Mrs. Erma Peterson, Tott apartments, recently arrived at a United States air force station in England and received a brief orientation course for adjustment to life in a combat zone. He soon will be transferred to his permanent station from which American fighting planes cover the advance of Germany.
