RITES SATURDAY for T-5 Waldo P. Adams


Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarine (sic) for T/5 Waldo “Ted” Paul Adams, 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Adams of Los Angeles, Calif., formerly of Council Bluffs, whose body arrived here Wednesday. The Rev. J. S. Phipps, pastor of Central Nazarene church, will officiate. V. F. W. post No. 737 will conduct graveside military rites at Cedar Lawn cemetery. Tyler-Rusch funeral home is in charge.

Adams died of injuries received in an accident while patrolling Napolis highway in Italy, Jan. 4, 1945. He had been in the army since April, 1941, with 32 months service in the European theater.

Born at Elmo, Mo., “Ted” was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school and was employed as an electrician with Jensen Electric company before entering the armed service.

Survivors are his parents; his widow, Mrs. Ruth Phelps; five brothers, Donald J., Harold Al., Philip and Eugene, all of California, Stanley of Long Island, N. Y., and one sister, Mrs. W. E. Ray of Stillwater, Okla.

Waldo Paul Adams was born Oct. 14, 1919 to Jordan H. and Ollie Myrtle Sloan Adams. He died Jan. 4, 1945 and is buried in Parklawn Cemetery, Pottawattamie County, IA.
