Sloan, Ia.—Harold Abbott, recently promoted to private first class in the Army Air Forces at the Antilles air command headquarters, San Juan, Puerto Rico, is stationed at a South American air base guarding the vital approaches to the Caribbean. A native of Sergeant Bluff, he is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Abbott, of Sloan.
