Joseph Matthew Zeiger was born Jan. 16, 1914 to John P. and Eva Schamber Zeiger. He died Mar. 27, 1942 (At Sea)/FOD Apr. 5, 1944 and has a cenotaph in Saint Francis Cemetery, Belmond, IA. He is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, NY.
Petty Officer Zeiger served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Atik (AK-101).
