Earl W. Haefner, Sr. was born in 1899 to William and Etta Elizabeth Bickel Haefner. He died in 1980 and is buried in Bloomfield Cemetery, Castalia, IA.

Col. Haefner served in World War II with the U.S. Army as Regimental Commander of the First Provisional Regiment Motor School. He also served in World War I and Korea.

Earl Wesley Haefner, Jr. was born May 9, 1925 to Earl W. (Sr.) and Clara Brandt Haefner. He died Feb. 22, 1998 and is buried in Bloomfield Cemetery, Castalia, IA.

Leonard Tilman “Leon” Hanson was born Sept. 22, 1918 to Willie and Minnie Finholdt Hanson. He died Dec. 6, 1944 and is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. 

Pvt. Hanson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 415th Infantry Regiment, 104th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.

Paul Edgar Harris was born Dec. 3, 1920 to Martin Emery and Arvilla Barbara Brainard Harris. He died June 23, 1974 and is buried in Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum, Colorado Springs, CO.

Lt. Col. Harris served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 8th Air Force, as the pilot of “Four Roses”, a B-17 Flying Fortress bomber. He served in Hawaii and in the European Theatre. He was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters. He served his country for 27 years.

Phil Hale Harris was born Dec. 25, 1916 to Martin Emery and Arvilla Barbara Brainard Harris. He died Oct. 1965 and is buried in Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, IL.

Phil served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.

Robert LeRoy Hoffman was born June 18, 1923 to Harold E. and Carrie M. Hoffman. He died Sept. 8, 1948 and is buried in Phelps Cemetery, Decorah, IA. 

Pvt. Hoffman served with the U.S. Army Air Corps 330th Bomb Squadron in World War II.
