Arthur Eugene Smith was born Jan. 6, 1925 to Jessie Weldon and Blanche Esther Chase Smith. He died Jan. 4, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Otho Cemetery, Otho, IA.

Petty Officer Smith served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard USS Ommaney Bay (CVE-79) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that vessel was hit in a kamikaze attack and sank in the Sulu Sea. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Donald E. “Don” Smith was born Oct. 25, 1926. He died June 17, 2017 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Victor Louis Smith was born Apr. 7, 1919 to Frank and Bessie M. Hunefeld Smith. He died May 19, 1974.

Sgt. Smith served in World War II with the U.S. Army 233rd Engineer Combat Battalion. He was awarded the WWII Philippine Medals, Good Conduct Medal, Bronze Star, and Philippine Liberation Ribbon with Bronze Star.
