Hanford Allen Files was born Nov. 17, 1920 to James Ray and Anna Files. He died Sept. 17, 1944 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands. He was first buried at the Temporary American Military Cemetery of Molenhoek, Netherlands. 

1st Lt. Files served in World War II with the U.S. Army 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division. He was KIA and awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart.

Robert Edward Fitzgerald was born May 7, 1918 to James Francis and Margaret Elizabeth Holland Fitzgerald. He died Dec. 24, 1943 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England.

Petty Officer Fitzgerald served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Vulcan (AR-5) and the USS Leary (DD-158) where he was MIA/FOD/KIA when his ship was torpedoed in the Atlantic area while engaged in an anti-submarine patrol. The vessel sank shortly after the third torpedo struck.
