Howard Kenneth Brooks was born Sept. 21, 1919 to William Leonard and Madge Ophelia Slonecker Brooks. He died Feb. 14, 1945 and is buried in Otho Cemetery, Otho, IA.

Sgt. Brooks served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 570th Bomb Squadron and was KIA in the service of his country.

Paul Eugene Brooks was born Nov. 3, 1913 to Charles Augustus and Goldie Esther Beasley Brooks. He died Apr. 7, 1945 and is buried in Fort Dodge Memorial Park, Fort Dodge, IA.

Cpl. Brooks served in World War II with the U.S. Army 771st Tank Battalion and was KIA in Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star medal for heroic achievement when he destroyed three enemy vehicles that were moving into position to stop an American column during an attack near Moers, Germany. He also took part in the Roer river crossing and the battle of Ardennes. He was also awarded the Purple Heart.

Vernon Charles Brooks was born Nov. 9, 1920 to Charles Augustus and Goldie Esther Beasley Brooks.

Sgt. Brooks served in World War Ii with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Italy.

James Shirley and Mabel Foval Brown Family:

James Gordon Brown was born Aug. 22, 1915 to James Shirley and Mabel Foval Brown. He died July 15, 1987 and is buried in Newton Memorial Park, Newton, IA.

Maj. Brown served in World War II with the U.S. Army. He also served in Korea.

Shirley Junior Brown was born July 5, 1924 to James Shirley and Mabel Foval Brown. He died Mar. 9, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridgeshire, England.

Petty Officer Brown served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA/KIA aboard the USS Leopold (DE-319) when it was sunk by enemy action in the North Atlantic.
