Gooder, Dale      

Samuel Franklin Garton was born Nov. 29, 1920 to Franklin “Frank" and Jane Sponsler Garton. He died June 3, 1943 and was memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York, NY and has a cenotaph in Humeston Cemetery, Humeston, IA.

Lt. Garton served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Corps and died when his plane crashed into the North Atlantic Ocean and his body was never recovered.

Keith E. George was born Aug. 2, 1909 to Tom E. and Marie Comstock George. He died Oct. 24, 1944 and has a cenotaph in Bethlehem Cemetery, Millerton, IA and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

1st Lt. George served in World War II with the U.S. Army Field Artillery and was MIA and awarded the Purple Heart.

Gerald Max Green was born Sept. 24, 1922 to Wiley Otis and Mary Klinger Green. He died Apr. 29, 1945 and is buried in Humeston Cemetery, Humeston, IA.

Petty Officer Green served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Hazelwood (DD-531) and was MIA/KIA when that ship was struck by a Japanese suicide plane off Okinawa.
