Willis Sondag was born Mar. 22, 1921 to Frank and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Klett Sondag. He died Dec. 22, 1943 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands.

Sgt. Sondag served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps, 66th Bomber Squadron, 44th Bomber Group, Heavy and was KIA in Germany and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters.
