Glenn Wesley Spragle was born Mar. 6, 1917 to James Frederick and Mary McNeal Spragle. He died Mar. 1, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Maplewood Cemetery, Vinton, IA.

Petty Officer Spragle served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Houston (CA-30) when that vessel was sunk during an engagement with enemy ships in the Sunda Straits. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
