James Ferkin Twedt was born Sept. 21, 1925 to Albert and Edith Ferkin Twedt. He died Feb. 25, 1945 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Petty Officer Twedt served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was attached to the Fifth Marine Division. He was wounded on Iwo Jima and died of his wounds on a hospital ship. He was awarded the Navy Cross.

Petty Officer Tweet served in World War II with the U.S. Navy as a radioman aboard ships in both the European and Pacific theaters. During the invasion of Italy he was the radioman aboard a small vessel commanded by General Eisenhower. Before leaving the service, Arthur was one of a select number to witness the atomic bomb tests in the Bikini Atoll.
