Gen. Pyle served in World War II with the U.S. Army Field Artillery in Germany. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, and Air Medal. He was also awarded the Croix de Guerre.

Jesse Loyd “Loyd” Pyle was born Apr. 29, 1924 to Edward Lawrence and Edith Mae Petty Pyle. He died in 2015 and is buried in Maxwell Cemetery, Maxwell, IA.

Loyd served in World War II with the U.S. Coast Guard.

Edward L. Pyle, Jr. was born Apr. 22, 1920 to Edward Lawrence (Sr.) and Edith Mae Petty Pyle. He died June 9, 2011 and is buried in Woodland Cemetery, Iowa Center, IA.

Edward served in World War II with the U.S. Army 27th Tank Battalion.
