William Everett Kopf was born Feb. 9, 1917 to John Wilhelm and Blanche E. Densmore Kopf. He died Oct. 14, 1943 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France.

Lt. Kopf served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 547th Bomber Squadron, 384th Bomber Group, Heavy and was KIA as the pilot of a B-17 “The Joker” which crashed near Verdun, France. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Lt. Kopf has a cenotaph in Nevada Municipal Cemetery, Nevada, IA.

Roy Milton Kottman was born Dec. 22, 1916 to William D. and Millie J. Christensen Kottman. He died June 4, 1994 and is buried in Union Cemetery, Columbus, OH.

Col. Kottman served in World War II with the U.S. Army in the Philippines as a Second Lieutenant with the 418th Field Artillery. He rose to the rank of Colonel prior to retirement from the Active Reserve in 1961.
