Monty Joe Boitnott was born Apr. 23, 1921 to George Joseph and Berta Agnes “Bertie” Millhouse Boitnott. He died Apr. 12, 2014 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Cpl. Boitnott served in World War II with the U.S. Army 34th Division, making three amphibious landings in North Africa and Italy. In 1944 he was transferred to the Army Air Force and flew as a tail gunner for B-17 aircraft, serving until victory in Europe. He served in a support unit in the Korean War and retired from the Air Force in 1973. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Oak Leaf Cluster.

Walter Andrew Boyd was born Sept. 18, 1926 to George E. and Emma Schlafke Boyd. He died Apr. 26, 1994 and is buried in Belmond Cemetery, Belmond, IA.

Walter served in World War II with the U.S. Army.
