Dean Michael Bakka was born Aug. 28, 1923 to Henry Martin and Mabel Amanda Jacobson Bakka. He died June 6, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-Sur-Mer, France. He has a cenotaph in Roland Cemetery, Roland, IA.

Petty Officer Bakka served in World War II with the U.S. Navy ATTC 11th Amphibious Force and died on D-Day off Omaha Beach.

Francis Carl Baldus was born Oct. 28, 1915 to Carl Lewis and Mary Alice Garland Baldus. He died Dec. 24, 2007 and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carroll, IA.

Francis served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.

Joseph Benedict (Joe) Baldus was born Aug. 30, 1917 to Carl Lewis and Mary Alice Garland Baldus. He died June 1, 2013 and is buried in Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery, Boone, IA.

Joe served in World War II with the U.S. Army 14th Field Artillery.

Ronald Earl Ball was born Dec. 1, 1925 to Henry Everett and Ethel Emaline Lee Ball. He died June 22, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Collins Cemetery, Collins, IA.

Petty Officer Ball served in World War II with the U.S. Naval Air Force Pacific Fleet, Bomb Squadron 117 and died in a plane crash shortly after take off on a routine patrol mission. He was awarded the Air Medal.
