Sgt. White served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 9th Air Force, 409th Bomber Squadron, 93rd Bomber Group, Heavy on B-24D “Jose Carioca” #42-40617 and was KIA in Ploesti, Romania. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and Purple Heart.
