Lowell Roscoe Irwin was born May 6, 1925 to Roscoe William and Hazel Martha Crozier Irwin. He died May 27, 1945 and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 3, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Petty Officer Irwin served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Braine (DD-630) and was MIAKIA in enemy action while in the service of his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart, Amrican Area Service Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Service Ribbon with three bronze stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with two bronze stars.
