George William Hansen was born Jan. 13, 1923 to John C. and Blanche E. McKim Hansen. He died Aug. 30, 1944 and is buried in Brittany American Cemetery, Montjoie Saint Martin, France.

Sgt. Hansen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 116th Infantry Regiment, 29th Infantry Division and was MIA/KIA in France and awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.
