Fred Otto Ellwanger was born Mar. 1, 1922 to William and Wilhelmina Johanna ”Minnie” Kruse Ellwanger. He died Dec. 18, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Ferguson Cemetery, Lake View, IA.

Petty Officer Ellwanger served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Spence (DD-512) which capsized and sank in Typhoon Cobra in Philippine waters. He was MIA/FOD.

Gerald Raymond English was born Oct. 26, 1918 to Thomas Milligan and Martha Maurine Winters English. He died June 22, 2001 and is buried in Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, Knoxville, TN.

Pvt. English served with the U.S. Army in World War I
