Charles Leroy Linn was born Jan. 8, 1917 to Charlie C. and E. Pearl Mitchell Linn. He died Nov. 6, 1942 and is buried in Layton Township Cemetery, Walnut, IA.

Cpl. Linn served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 476th Bomb Squadron and died in a plane crash near Lambert Field, St. Louis, MO.
