Pvt. Sharp served in World War II with the U.S. Army on Luzon.

Walter Elwood Shotwell was born Apr. 25, 1921 to LeRoy and Pearl Reigard Shotwell. He died Aug. 16, 2014 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

1st Lt Shotwell served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. Capt. Shotwell served with the U.S. Air Force in Korea. As a pilot he flew 486 combat cargo missions over Japanese occupied Burma, earning three Bronze Stars, five Air Medals and two Distinguished Flying Crosses.
