Thomas Francis “Tommy” Neagle was born May 17, 1919 to John H. and Anna Loretta Pihl Neagle. He died Aug. 9, 1948 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA. Tommy served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Paul Alfred Needs was born Apr. 3, 1923 to John Alfred and Mabel L. Needs. He died Sept. 9, 1942 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York, NY.

Petty Officer Needs served in World War II with the U.S. Coast Guard aboard the cutter USCGC Muskeget (WAG-48) which served as a weather ship with the North Atlantic Weather Patrol. She was misidentified as an auxiliary merchant cruiser and sunk by two torpedoes from the German submarine U-755. No bodies were ever recovered and Muskeget’s wreck was never found.

Howard Earl Neese was born May 30, 1926 to Alvin and Elva Hays Neese. He died Feb. 10, 2017 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty Officer Neese served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Donald Ray Neff was born Apr. 6, 1924 to Benjamin H. and Edith J. Neff. He died Dec. 7, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines, IA.

Petty Officer Neff served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Liddle (DE-206/APD-60) and was lost when that vessel, while patrolling between Ponson and Leyte Islands, Ormoc Bay, the Philippines, was damaged by the crash and explosion of a Japanese suicide plane on the flying bridge of the ship. He was MIA/FOD/KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.

Frank Negrete was born Mar. 10, 1923 to Dantago and Seveera Thovez Negrete. He died June 5, 2018 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Pvt. Negrete served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Bobbie Lee Nelson was born Jan. 18, 1925 to William August and Freda A. Couley Nelson. He died June 10, 2008 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty Officer Nelson served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

William Lavon Ness was born Oct. 17, 1924 to Andrew T. and Lena Ness. He died Mar. 19, 1945, was buried at sea, and is memorialized at the Courts of the Missing, Court 1, Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Petty Officer Ness served with the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the USS Franklin (CV-13) and was KIA and buried at sea when that ship came under attack near the Japanese mainland.

John Peter Neu was born Sept. 16, 1916 to Matthew and Anna Lang Neu. He died Nov. 27, 2018 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

1st. Lt. Neu served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He was awarded the Air Medal and 4 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Raymond Walker Neuendorf was born Jan. 20, 1920 to Louis and Marguerite Neuendorf. He died Oct. 13, 1944 and is buried in Highland Memory Gardens, Des Moines, IA. He was initially buried in USAF Cemetery Peleliu #1

Pvt. Neuendorf served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 5th Marines, 1st Marine Division and was wounded in action in combat operations on Peleliu. He died of his wounds.
