Jackson Sheldon MacConkey was born Oct. 23, 1923 to Sheldon and Vincelle Hunt MacConkey. He died Apr. 19, 1944 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium. 

Flight Officer MacConkey served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 358th Fighter Squadron, 355th Fighter Group and was KIA in Germany. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters.
