Francis John Lochner was born June 18, 1918 to John and Veronica Plein Lochner. He died Feb. 28, 1943/FOD Dec. 15, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Lochner served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Houston (CA-30) and was MIA/KIA/FOD when that vessel was sunk during an engagement with the enemy in the Battle of Sunda Strait. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Harry Edwin Lone, Jr. was born Oct. 20, 1923 to Harry Edwin (Sr.) and Lula Wakefield Lone. He died June 16, 2018 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty Officer Lone served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Loren Emmett Long was born July 30, 1917 to Lannes LeRoy and Nettie Cora Jones Long. He died Sept. 18, 2008 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

1st Lt. Long served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Fighter Pilot flying P-51 Mustangs. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal and 8 Oak Leaf Clusters.

Leonard Cecil Lopp was born about 1917 to William Joseph and Minnie Mae Lopp. He died Dec. 27, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Lopp served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died in the service of his country and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Charles Preston Lord, Jr. was born June 2, 1925 to Charles Preston (Sr.) and Emma Cecilia Kilpatrick Lord. He died Oct. 2, 2015 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty OfficerLord served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. MSgt. Lord was in the Military Reserve for 20 years.

Clifford Lewis Losh was born Mar. 20, 1899 to Emery Richard and Margaret Losh. He died Jan. 23, 1945 and is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, IA.

Pvt. Losh served in World War II with the U.S. Army 311th Infantry.

Kenneth James Lowe was born Feb. 19, 1921 to Raymond K. and Grace Daymude Lowe. He died Mar. 11, 1945 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Sgt. Lowe served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 21st Marine Regiment, 5th Amphibious Corps, Iwo Jima, Japan where he died of wounds received in action. He was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star “for gallantry in action”.
