Thomas served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Harry Anthony Doerfler was born Jan. 17, 1926 to Ray and Apolonia Gruber Doerfler. He died Nov 13, 2017 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Sgt. Doerfler served in World War II with the U.S. Army 106th Infantry Div., 424th Regiment and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Bronze Star.

Benjamin A. “Ben” Donaghy was born July 30, 1906 to William and Mary McGowan Donaghy. He died Oct. 1987 and is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Farrar, IA.

Pvt. Donaghy served in World War II with the U.S. Army 129th Infantry, spending 25 months in the southwest Pacific.

George Eugene Donahue was born Mar. 14, 1922 to George E. and Edith T. Scott Donahue. He died Aug. 11, 2007 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Walter G. Dowie was born Nov. 20, 1922 to Frank D. and Lillian Mae Traffley Dowie. He died Jan. 11, 1946 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

1st Lt. Dowie served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 424th Bomb Squadron, 307th Bomb Group, Heavy. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.

John Wesley Doyle was born Mar. 8, 1925 to Peter and Mary Belle Carr Doyle. He died Nov. 9, 1945 and is buried in Epinal American Cemetery and Memorial, Lorraine, France.

Sgt. Doyle served in World War II with the U.S. Army 34th Quartermaster Truck Company and died in France as the result of hepatitis.
