John Joseph Pavik, Jr. was born Nov. 4, 1917 to John (Sr.) and Mary Ann Hronek Pavik. He died Feb. 27, 1945 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Pocahontas, IA.

Sgt. Pavik served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died while in the service of his country.

Merlyn Clifford Alva Pecoy was born Aug. 17, 1912 to E. S. and Anna Sophia Peterson Pecoy. He died Dec. 16, 1944 and is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium. 

Sgt. Pecoy served in World War II with the U.S. Army 400th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion and was KIA. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

Lester V. Pedersen was born Mar. 2, 1926 to Chris and Victoria Ottemene “Thora" Pedersen. He died Apr. 16, 1945 and is buried in Clinton-Garfield Cemetery, Rolfe, IA.

Pvt. Pedersen served in World War II with the U.S. Army, Hodges 1st Army, 104th Infantry and was KIA in Germany while serving his country.

Robert Emanuel Peterson was born Nov. 10, 1925 to Gustav and Christine Soderquist Peterson. He died Sept. 27, 2012 and is buried in Laurens Cemetery, Laurens, IA. Robert served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II.

Robert George Peterson was born Aug. 29, 1920 to Herman and Marie Sanford Peterson. He died Oct. 4, 2011 and is buried in Palmer Cemetery, Palmer, IA. Robert served with the U.S. Coast Guard in World War II.

Wilhelm Friedrick “William” Post was born Apr. 17, 1915 to Habbe Harms and Anna M. Bushe Post. He died June 11, 1944 and is buried in Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.

Pvt. Post served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was KIA in France and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Richard Allen Pratt was born Mar. 16, 1923 to Clarence A. and Cora May Reed Pratt. He died June 9, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England.

Lt. Pratt served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 328th Fighter Squadron, 352nd Fighter Group and was MIA/FOD/KIA when the “mustang” fighter plane he was piloting failed to return from a reconnaissance mission. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
