Robert O’Neal “Bob” Thompson was born Oct. 12, 1920 to Harry Newman and Bess Jewell Meads Thompson. He died Dec. 22, 1944 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium.

Pvt. Thompson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division and died while serving his country. He was a German POW at the time of his death.
