Roy Edward Dixson was born Sept. 9, 1917 to Adolf E. and Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie" Culp Dixson. He died Apr. 17, 1944 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.

Pvt. Dixson served with the U.S. Army 133rd Infantry Regiment, 34th Infantry Division in World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
