Robert Harry Chapin was born Sept. 8, 1921 to Ray Suthard and Laura Mae Robbins Chapin. He died Oct. 29, 1943 and is buried in East Lawn Cemetery, Sheldon, IA.

Lt. Chapin served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died in Dobodura, New Guinea as a result of an airplane crash.
