Philip Harmon Rathbone was born Aug. 21, 1907 to Mortimer H. and Anna Laura Meeks Rathbone. He died Mar. 12, 1948 and is buried in Villisca Cemetery, Villisca, IA.

Philip served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Otho Dale “Dale” Ratliff, Jr. was born Feb. 26, 1924 to Otho Dale (Sr.) and Lea Fern Ratliff. He died Sept. 28, 2021 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Sgt. Ratliff served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.

Lawrence Elmo Reed was born July 28, 1914 to Ernest E. and Annie Barr Reid. He died Nov. 27, 1943 and is buried in Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy.

Sgt. Reed served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 342nd Bomb Squadron, 97th Bomb Group, Heavy and was KIA in Italy and awarded the Purple Heart.

Donald W. Reifschneider was born Aug. 1, 1913 to Gotlup and Mary Nazarene Reifschneider. He died Dec. 30. 1944 and is buried in Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.

Pvt. Reifschneider served in World War II with the U.S. Army 3rd Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment and was KIA in Belgium in the service of his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Howard LeRoy Rhoads was born Nov. 1, 1922 to Cornelius Dayton and Gladys Edna Wright Rhoads. He died Nov. 12, 1948 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak, IA. 

Cpl. Rhoads served with the U.S. Army Air Corps Pacific Wing in World War II.

Fredrick Vincent Roach was born May 3, 1914 to George VIncent and Mary Catherine Borsdorf Roach. He died July 24, 1944 and is buried in Saint Marys Cemetery, Red Oak, IA.

Pvt. Roach served in World War II with the U.S. Army 358th Infantry, 90th Division and died from wounds received in action in France.

Rufus Wayne Robb was born June 3, 1921 to Ralph R. and Carmen L. Adams Robb. He died Feb. 2, 1991 in Los Angeles, CA.

Cpl. Robb served in World War II with the U.S. Army 168th Infantry, 34th Division and was MIA/POW while serving his country. He served his country again from 1948-1963.

William Thomas Ross was born May 14, 1910 to Thomas Duff and Frances E. Ross. He died Jan. 4, 1946 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Ross served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was MIA/FOD/KIA in the service of his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
