Roy Eugene Farmer was born Aug. 24, 1924 to Roy Alvin and Florence V. Segin Farmer. He died June 19, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Normandy American Cemetery, Colleville-sur-Mer, France.

Petty Officer Farmer served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS LST 523 and was MIA/FOD/KIA as the result of the Allied invasion and occupation of the beaches and coastal area of Normandy, France. His vessel, acting as a part of the shuttle force after the initial landing, struck a mine and sank shortly thereafter.

William Venning Farnsworth was born Feb. 25, 1901 to John W. and Agnes B. DePuy Farnsworth. He died May 15, 1945 and is buried in Riverside Cemetery, Marshalltown, IA. Pvt. Farnsworth served in World War II with the U.S. Army 7th General Hospital Medical Detachment.

Richard Kenneth Farrell was born Sept. 18, 1915 to Alfred E. and Minnie E. Hays Farrell. He died Oct. 1, 1946 and is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hannibal, MO.

Sgt. Farrell served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Earl Wilbert Dwight Ficken was born Oct.19, 1919 to Arthur and Bertha Probst FIcken. He died Feb, 5, 2000 and is buried in Melbourne Memorial Garden, Melbourne, IA.

Earl served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the South Pacific.

Floyd William Gerhard Ficken was born Feb. 17, 1918 to Arthur and Bertha Probst Ficken. He died Apr. 27, 1994 and is buried in Resurrection Cemetery, Springfield, MO.

1st Lt. Ficken served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II, Korea and Vietnam.

William Theodore Fickes was born Mar. 30, 1909 to Henry and Etta Bence Fickes. He died Dec. 30, 1943 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery and Memorial, Taguig City, Philippines. Pvt. Fickes served with the U.S. Marine Corps in World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Calvin Carl Franck was born Oct. 20, 1924 to Carl Christian and Blanche Arlene Brown Franck. He died Jan. 24, 1946 and is buried in National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. Petty Officer Franck served in World War II with the U.S. Navy Seabees.

Paul Alexander Frank was born Sept. 13, 1922 to Alexander and Lauretta Tharp Frank. He died May 2, 1945 and is buried in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Lemay, MO.

Lt. Frank served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps Marine Air Group 31 (MAG31) supporting operations of the U.S. 8th Army in the Sulu Archipelago and Mindanao. He was KIA while flying as co-pilot with 1st Lt. Robert Mason and 5 other crew members when their aircraft was shot down and all hands on board died. The aircraft was found after the war but the remains were unable to be individually identified so they were buried in a group burial.

Franklin William Freeborn was born Oct. 20, 1912 to Frank W. and Fannie May Bennett Freeborn. He died Mar. 24, 1945 and is buried in Netherlands American Cemetery, Margraten, Netherlands. 

Sgt. Freeborn served in World War II with the U.S. Army 415th Infantry Regiment,, 104th Infantry Division and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Kenneth Ralph Fricke was born May 24, 1919 to Fred E. and Elizabeth Wolken Fricke. He died Apr. 4, 1987 and is buried in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, Jacksonville, FL.

Petty Officer Fricke served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Thomas Walter “Tom” Fries was born Sept. 9, 1926 to Jurgen George Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Gregurka Fries. He died June 5, 2018 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.

Petty Officer Fries served with the U.S. Navy in World War II serving aboard the USS Bottineau (APA-235). Tom was involved with Operation Crossroads, which was ordered by the Chief of Staff to test the effects of the Atomic Bomb on various out of service, older decommissioned Navy vessels and was conducted at Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands. The Bottineau was the first ship back into the target zone for tests on Crossroads Able and Crossroads Baker in 1946. The Bottineau was 20 miles out to sea at the time of detonation with its back to the blast site. Tom was quarantined near Alcatraz in San Francisco, CA for 10 days due to high radiation exposure. He was awarded the Asian Pacific (1 Star); American Area; Navy Reserve Medal; Victory WWII Medal; Good Conduct Medal and Honorable Service Lapel Button. He was a Bikini Atoll Atomic Veteran and a member of the National Association of Atomic Veterans; National World War II Memorial Society, Plank Owner; Quarter Deck Club; Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and WWII National Museum.

Elmer Earl Frimml was born Feb. 20, 1914 to Frank Walter and Cora Idabelle Hartley Frimml. He died Mar. 24, 1977 and is buried in Lakeside Cemetery, Loveland, CO.
