Max Earl Gerard was born Feb. 21, 1919 to Carl Emerson and Lena Viola Bodenhamer Gerard. He died Oct. 10, 1949 and is buried in Union Mills Cemetery, Union Mills, IA. 

Pvt. Gerard served with the 83rd Mountain Infantry, U.S. Army in World War II.
