Scott Ellwood “Scottie” O’Neal was born Nov. 26, 1917 to Edward and Rose O’Neal. He died June 1, 2011 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.

MSgt. O’Neal served in World War II with the U.S. Army and finished his 20 year career in the U.S. Air Force. He served in the Philippines during WWII and was held as a POW for 3-1/2 years after his capture by the Japanese Forces at the surrender of Bataan and Corregidor, Philippine Islands. Awards and decorations include: The Silver Star, Bronze Star w/V, Bronze Star, Purple Heart with two clusters, Presidential Unit Citation with two clusters, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation, Prisoner of War Medal, Infantry Combat Badge, Senior Airman Wings, Air Force and Army Good Conduct Medals, Air Defense Medal, Asiatic Pacific Defense Medal with three stars, Expert Rifleman and Expert Pistol Medals. Scottie was a Life Member of the DAV, the Order of the Purple Heart and the Defenders of Bataan and Corregidor Organization.

Samuel Edward Orr was born Sept. 23, 1918 to Samuel and Mabel Clarice Thom Orr. He died Aug. 23, 1946 and is buried in Los Angeles National Cemetery, Los Angeles, CA.

Pvt. Orr served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

George Edward Othmer was born Jan. 28, 1914 to Edward T. and Helen Othmer. He died Jan. 15, 1945 and is buried in Ardennes American Cemetery, Neupre, Belgium.

Pvt. Othmer served in World War II with the U.S. Army 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment and was MIA/KIA in Belgium and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Keith Frederick Ottsen was born July 17, 1923 to George Jerome and Carrie Eva Tangeman Ottsen. He died Feb. 2, 1945 and is buried in Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pvt. Ottsen served in World War II with the U.S. Army and was KIA in Belgium in the service of his country.

Walter Alfred Owen was born Apr. 19, 1919 to George H. and Gertrude Pegarek Owen. He died June 24, 1947 and has a cenotaph in Cedar Memorial Park, Cedar Rapids, IA. Walter served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Eugene Owens was born Oct. 19, 1922 to Albert F. and Eva M. Siver Owens. He died July 5, 1996 and is buried in Lisbon Cemetery, Lisbon, IA. Sgt. Owens served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
