Mearl Loren Barnett was born May 30, 1923 to Thomas and Lula Hanselman Barnett. He died Oct. 25, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Barnett served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73) and was MIA/KIA when that vessel was sunk during a surface engagement with an enemy force off Samar Island, Philippine Islands. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Howard Francis Beilstein was born Oct. 31, 1921 to John N. and Leona M. Peck Beilstein. He died June 3, 1996.

Howard served in World War II with the U.S. Navy.

Kenneth Bird was born Mar. 22, 1907 to Isabel Bird. He died Apr. 26, 1945 and is buried in Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and memorialized in IOOF Cemetery, Marengo, IA.

Pvt. Bird served in World War II with the U.S. Army 3rd Field Hospital and died in New Guinea in the service of his country.

Carl L. “Doc” Butler was born Mar. 9, 1919 to Carl Cleveland and Agnes Sophia Feldaverd Butler. He died Aug. 17, 2005 and is buried in Campground Cemetery, Melder, Louisiana. Doc served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

John Harry Butler was born Dec. 3, 1911 to Carl Cleveland and Agnes Sophia Feldaverd Butler. He died Oct. 15, 1942 (Lost at Sea). 

Chief Petty Officer Butler served with the U.S. Navy and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in North English Cemetery, North English, IA. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Vaughn Francis Butler was born Sept. 26, 1905 to Carl Cleveland and Agnes Sophia Feldaverd Butler. He died June 13, 1943 and is buried in North English Cemetery, North English, IA. 

Sgt. Butler served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
