Lyman AKA Lymon LeRoy Isom was born Apr. 19, 1921 to LeRoy and Katie Ann Duff Isom. He died Apr. 9, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and in Woodbine Cemetery, Woodbine, IA.

Petty Officer Isom served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Triton (SS-201) and was MIA/FOD/KIA when that vessel was sunk between Rabaul and Shortlands Basin probably by depth charge attack. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
