Olaf Mandt Hustvedt was born June 23, 1888 to Rev. Halvor Bjorn and Marie Reque Hustvedt. He died Dec. 22, 1978 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Vice Admiral Hustvedt served with the U.S. Navy from June 4, 1909 to Mar. 1, 1945. He was the 1st Captain of the battleship USS North Carolina (BB-55).

A son, Erling Halvor Hustvedt was born Dec. 11, 1919 to Olaf Mandt and Irene Cooper Hustvedt. He died Jan. 18, 2001 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Capt. Hustvedt served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.

Another son, Stephen Roald Hustvedt was born May 8, 1925 to Olaf Mandt and Irene Cooper Hustvedt. He died Jan. 10, 2005 in Crownsville, MD. 1st Lt. Hustvedt served in World War II with the U.S. Army in Military Intelligence.

Their daughter, Virginia Hustvedt Hauck was born Aug. 29, 1913 to Olaf Mandt and Irene Cooper Hustvedt. She died Mar. 10, 1989 and is buried in Arlington, National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Virginia was married to Capt. Philip Frederick Hauck who served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Duncan (DD-485) and was awarded the Silver Star for his 'conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity' during action against enemy Japanese forces off Savo Island on the night of 11 Oct. 1942. Capt. Philip and Virginia Hauck were the parents of Navy Capt. Frederick Hauck, commander of the space shuttle Discovery.

Frederick Harlan “Hutch" Hutchinson was born Jan. 7, 1922 to Mark Creighton and Lovina M. Langton Hutchinson. He died Apr. 28, 1989 and is buried in Soldier Valley Cemetery, Pisgah, IA. Hutch served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
