Wayne Stanley Hurd was born Oct. 18, 1913 to William and Helen Louise Bielefeld Hurd. He died Oct. 14, 1981 and is buried in Ell Township Cemetery, Hancock County, IA.

Sgt. Hurd served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He also served in Korea.
