Albert Vander (Bert) Kruse was born May 18, 1921 to Harm Jan and Susanna Vanderlas Kruse. He died May 20, 2008 and is buried in Colfax Center Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Holland, IA.

Bert served in World War II with the U.S. Army 576th and 681st Bands.

Darwin Glen Kruse was born Nov. 8, 1926 to Albert T. and Kate Toomsen Kruse. He died July 30, 1945 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines and has a cenotaph in Saint Peters Evangelical Church Cemetery, Grundy County, IA.

Petty Officer Darwin Glen Kruse served with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Indianapolis (CA-35). He was KIA in the service of his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
