Arthur Louis Gratias was born May 1, 1920 to Hugo Gustave and Katherine Ahrens Gratias. He died Mar. 6, 2015 and is buried in Eden Presbyterian Cemetery, Meroa, IA.

Arthur served in World War II with the U.S. Army Headquarters Co. 2nd and 75th Infantry Divisions. He participated in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns and was engaged in both the D-Day landing at Omaha Beach and Battle of the Bulge. He was WIA in France and received the Purple Heart. He also received the Legion of Honor medal from the French government.

Darrell served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 5th Bomb Group (H), 13th Air Force and Flight Section Headquarters USAFISPA and Headquarters Army Air Forces Pacific Ocean Area.

Francis Peter Green was born Feb. 6, 1919 to Peter John and Mary Kathryn Weber Green. He died June 21, 1945 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Charles City, IA.

Francis served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Minneapolis (CA-36), USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60) and USS Curtiss (AV-4) where he was KIA when the Curtiss was hit by a kamikaze plane.

Pete served in World War II with the U.S. Army 656th Tank Destroyer Unit in the European Theater and was one of the first units in the Battle of the Bulge.
