Leon F. Taylor was born July 11, 1915 to Purl J. and Alice Mae Leggett Taylor. He died Feb. 6, 1943 and is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello, IA.

Cpl. Taylor served in World War II with the U.S. Army and died as the result of an automobile accident while he was serving his country.

Edward Clarence Thale was born Aug. 19, 1921 to August H. and Elizabeth Heidemann Thale. He died Aug, 19, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France.

Petty Officer Thale served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and died in the English Channel in the service of his country. He was awarded the Purple Heart.

Samuel Charles Thie was born Oct. 23, 1916 to Samuel Henry and Ruby Young Thie. He died Oct. 21, 2014 in Mediapolis, IA.

1st Sgt. Thie served in World War II with the U.S. Army 423rd Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion in Bermuda.
