Edward Francis Hancock was born June 4, 1922 to Francis H. and Anna C. Saftig Hancock. He died Sept. 21, 1943 (was buried at sea) and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuo, Italy and has a cenotaph in Saint Marys Catholic Cemetery, West Burlington, IA.

Petty Officer Hancock served in World War II with the U.S. Navy and was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.

Adrian Thomas Hand was born Jan. 3, 1916 to Franklin Adrian and Elsie McCannon Hand. He died Apr. 6, 1948 and is buried in Burlington Memorial Park, Burlington, IA. 

Pvt. Hand served in World War II with the U.S. Army 315th Engineer Combat Battalion.

Maurice Marlo Hannah was born May 31, 19119 to Leo and Gertrude Mattern Hannah. He died Oct.. 4, 2003 and is buried in Riverside National Cemetery, Riverside, CA.

Lt. Col. Hannah served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps. He also served in Korea and Vietnam.

Eugene R. “Gene” Hanson was born May 16, 1917 to Raymond L. and Edna F. Rebecca Johnson Hanson. He died Dec. 30, 2015 and is buried in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.

Capt. Hanson served in World War II with the U.S. Navy, as a Navy carrier pilot aboard the USS Hornet (CV-8) and was awarded double Navy crosses among many other medals and commendations. He participated in the Battle of Midway Island and the Battle of Guadalcanal among other actions during WWII. His career continued with him leading anti-submarine patrols along America’s Atlantic coast line in the 1950’s. In the late 50’s and early 60's he was commander of the carrier USS Wasp (CV-18).

Paul Randolph Hanson was born Jan. 24, 1919 to Raymond L. and Edna F. Rebecca Johnson Hanson. He died Aug. 12, 1967 and is buried in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, IA.

Harold Stanley Harris was born Sept. 14, 1924 to Henry H. and Elizabeth Powell Harris. He died Apr. 22, 1945 and is buried in Florence American Cemetery, Impruneta, Italy.

Sgt. Harris served in World War II with the 87th Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division and was KIA in Italy and awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Albert Hartman was born about 1917. He was the adopted son of Albert Henry and Lurene Hartman. He died Nov. 11, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Hartman served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS South Dakota (BB-57) and was lost at sea. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
