Max Lane Hamilton was born Mar. 9, 1923 to Ernest and Letha Lucille Lane Hamilton. He died Apr. 12, 1944 and is buried in Leon Cemetery, Leon, IA.

Sgt. Lane served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps.

Harley Richard Higdon was born Apr. 23, 1916 to John T. and Allie Delaney Higdon. He died Feb. 1, 1943 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Higdon served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS De Haven (DD-469) which was sunk by enemy dive bombers and several direct bomb hits resulting in a terrific explosion, east of Savo Island, with 167 killed and 38 wounded.
