Pvt. Thomas served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was stationed in Iwo Jima and Japan.

Walter Peter Henry Thomsen Sept. 16, 1922 to Peter and Anna F. Lockmiller Thomsen. He died Jan. 26, 1944 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Sicily-Rome American Cemetery, Nettuno, Italy and has a cenotaph in Dow City Cemetery, Dow City, IA.

Pvt. Thomsen served in World War II with the U.S. Army 83rd Chemical Battalion and was MIA/KIA and was awarded the Purple Heart.
