William A. Rands was born Jan. 21, 1917 to Lawrence John and Dora Snyder Rands. He died Sept. 11, 1944 and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, DeWitt, IA.

William served in World War II with the 36th Armored Infantry, 3rd Armored Division.

Everett Lee Rich was born Aug. 18, 1926 to Peter and Margaret Rich. He died May 16, 2017 and is buried in Pine Hill Cemetery, Wheatland, IA.

Everett served in World War II with the U.S. Army.

Hampton Edward Rich was born Apr. 29, 1916 to Maurice E. and Virginia Randolph Sublett Rich. He died Oct. 12, 1943/FOD Oct. 13, 1944 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

1st Lt. Rich served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 321st Bomber Squadron, 90th Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/KIA near New Britain Island when his plane B-24D “Pistol Packin Mama” #42-40594, was strafed by four or five enemy planes before and after a water landing was made. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.

Jack E. Russell was born Dec. 23, 1915 to Charles and Josephine Russell. He died May 14, 1945 and is buried in National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Sgt. Russell served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps as Flight Engineer aboard B029 Superfortress #44-70017, serving with the 19th Bomb Group, 28th Bomb Squadron. He was KIA when his bomber disintegrated in the air over Nagoya, Japan.
