Kirk Edgar Phillips was born Feb. 15, 1922 to Edgar Isaac and Bessie Lee Elson Phillips. He died June 9, 1994 and is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee, IA.

Kirk served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 99th Bombardment Group, Heavy and 300th Base Unit, Dyersburg, TN.

Dean Smith Phipps was born Nov. 8, 1916 to John Dean and Inez Loretta Smith Phipps. He died June 17, 1944 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, IA. He was initially buried in the 2nd Marine Division Cemetery on Saipan and returned to the U.S. in 1949.

Pvt. Phipps served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, 2nd Marine Division and was KIA on Saipan.

Frank Nathan Phipps was born July 8, 1917 to Frank and Zora Ada Perry Phipps. He died Apr. 6, 1988 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, IA.

Frank served in World War II with the U.S. Army Ordnance Division.

Lorne Freeman Phipps was born Sept. 19, 1921 to Arthur Freeman and Flora May Ashenfelter Phipps. He died Apr. 25, 1981 and is buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Cherokee, IA.

Lorne served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 92nd Fighter Squadron, 81st Fighter Group, 14th Air Force.

Marvin Ellis “Bud” Phipps was born Nov. 12, 1916 to Benjamin Harrison and Ruth I. Wyatt Phipps. He died Feb. 17, 2004 and is buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee, IA.

Marvin served in World War II with the U.S. Army 32nd Infantry Division.
