Edwin J. “Ed” Hibbs was born June 22, 1920 to Leroy A. and Dorothy Louisa Lockwood Hibbs. He died Apr. 29. 2011 and is buried in Saint Marys Catholic Cemetery, Storm Lake, IA.
Ed served in World War II with the U.S. Army 5th Armored Division and took part in the invasion of France on Omaha Beach. He was WIA in the Huertgen Forest and spent 11 months in Army hospitals until his honorable discharge.
