Lt. Col. Platte served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II in the Pacific as a B-29 bombardier. He later served with the Air Force in the Korean War. He retired in 1968.

Clyde Harlen Poe was born Dec. 16, 1916 to Homer A. and Edna Mae Chesnut Poe. He died Aug. 9, 1942 and is memorialized at the Walls of the Missing, Manila American Cemetery, Taguig City, Philippines.

Petty Officer Poe served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Jarvis (DD-393) and was lost at sea in the Battle of Savo Island. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
